WANDERER

This photograph was taken on Kinshaldy Beach, near Dundee, during our first family trip after the COVID travel restrictions were lifted.

After months of staying still, the world suddenly opened again.

The figure in the frame is my son, wandering through the sand dunes, moving without direction, absorbed in the simple act of exploring. For him, it was play. For me, it was a quiet reminder of how freedom returns in small, unplanned moments.

There is no staging here. Just wind, tall grass, open space, and the restless energy of a child discovering the outdoors again.
The image is less about place and more about a feeling — the relief of movement, the calm that comes with space, and the quiet joy of being allowed to roam.
