10 × 10 in (25 × 25 cm) — £83
16 × 16 in (41 × 41 cm) — £127
I took this photograph while walking past the modern extension of the National Museum of Scotland. From the outside it’s sandstone, light in colour but heavy in presence. Inside, the newer part of the building is bare concrete. Cold, quiet, almost empty of detail.
What caught my attention was how the space felt at that moment. One person moving along the pavement, surrounded by stone and shadow. No rush, no crowd. Just a brief pause where the city softened and allowed the scene to settle.
Edinburgh is rarely this calm in that area. Especially close to the festival season. That’s why this moment stayed with me. It felt unplanned and honest. A small human gesture passing through a structure built to last.
This image is simply about being there, noticing the balance between movement and stillness, and pressing the shutter before it disappeared.
