This photograph was taken in Edinburgh’s Meadows on a winter afternoon, moments before sunset.
A solitary figure crosses the park, positioned instinctively against the low sun. I didn’t know the person and didn’t wait for a gesture or expression. What mattered was alignment with the light.

The image is intentionally soft, with no true point of focus. The lack of sharpness is a choice, allowing form, movement, and atmosphere to take precedence over detail. The figure becomes anonymous, almost suspended between presence and disappearance.

This work explores transience, anonymity, and the quiet tension created by light alone.
